At the heart of our mission at Ma3mal 612 is the commitment to nurturing young talent and providing them with the tools they need to succeed. The Radio Ma3mal 612 workshop is a testament to this commitment.

The Radio Ma3mal 612 workshop, which ran from the 27th of August to the 30th of September 2022, was a highly technical course designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to operate a radio station. It also provided them with the much-needed market experience that is often missing in formal education.

The workshop was facilitated by a team of experienced trainers, each bringing their unique expertise and perspective to the table. The course content varied from pure technicalities such as understanding soundwave spectrums and equipment plugins and mixers, to more content-oriented parts such as understanding music genres, setting up and creating playlists on radio specialized automation systems, and recording shows and conducting interviews.

Participant Sara Rishq, an editor, writer, and producer, shared her experience: “We all worked together as a team in the Radio workshop, you can have a thousand ideas for audio content on your own but no one might like them. That’s when teamwork and sharing ideas and perspectives comes in, and that’s what I valued the most at this workshop.”

Nabil Hammouri, a producer and audio engineer, also expressed his appreciation for the practical knowledge gained during the workshop: “College doesn’t teach you how to set up a radio from start to finish, and I don’t think I would have been able to learn it from professionals and practitioners anywhere other than at the Radio workshop at Ma3mal 612.

The Radio Ma3mal 612 workshop is a testament to our commitment to getting young artists ready for the market. We believe that by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge, we are not only helping them succeed in their careers but also contributing to the vibrant and diverse artistic community that we are so proud to be a part of.

Initiatives like the Radio Ma3mal 612 workshop are crucial in shaping the future of the arts and culture scene. As Zain Alarabi, an undergraduate student in Radio and Televised Media Studies, put it: “I now have a clear path to creating my own podcast, which I have been dreaming of doing for a while. I did not have the necessary knowledge before, but this workshop provided me with everything I needed.”

To be noted Ma3mal 612 is well equipped for the launch of an online radio which is planned in the near future. We are proud to share these success stories and look forward to creating more opportunities for young artists to learn, grow, and make their mark in the world of arts and culture. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
